To perform key operational functions of the Child Care Committee of York Region as they pertain to coordinating and/or communicating the activities of the child care committee to the community at large.
Emergency Preparedness Task Force
Purpose: The Emergency Preparedness Task Force has been established by the York Region Child Care Committee representing a cross section of community programs and agencies. This Task Force will research and review information pertaining to emergency planning and share information to support and inform communities in planning for the event of an emergency*.

The Task Force will be meeting over the next few months to develop a communication plan; this may include checklists, posters and communication tools. The first phase of the plan will be regarding Universal Precautions.

Feel free to duplicate and share these resources with all staff.

*An emergency has been defined for the purposes of the Emergency Preparedness Task Force as "an event that would result in a change/disruption in service to families".
Joy of Childhood Subcommittee
To promote the professional image and growth of the child care community of York Region by:
-planning and hosting the Joy of Childhood Conference
-promoting awareness of various resources and services available in the community
-encouraging quality programming
Quality & Accessibility Subcommittee
To promote positive environments and experiences that support and nurture all children and their families. To provide professionals involved in the care and education of young children with resources and information that enhance quality and support inclusion.
School Age Professional Development Subcommittee
To serve as a clearing forum for issues, advocacy and planning in school age programs throughout York Region in a non partisan environment.
