This pamphlet is designed to help parents increase their awareness of child care programs and resources available in York Region. It also provides child care providers with information about resources in their community and information regarding Family Resource Programs. Selecting appropriate child care is a serious responsibility for a parent. Child care plays an important role in your child's development. And as a parent, you need to know that your child is receiving quality care.

This guide provides information that will help you to select care for your child. It is not intended as a replacement for your own good judgement and powers of observation. You, as the parent, must make the final decision of which child care option best suits the needs of your child and family.

Child Care Committee of York Region:

The Child Care Committee brings representatives from all sectors in the child care community together to discuss issues and plans. Input from parents and community members on child care issues are welcomed.

The committee advocates on behalf of young children, families and the child care community in York Region. It also supports professional development opportunities for child care staff and care providers.
